Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are custom brackets bonded to the back surface of the arch, facing the tongue rather than the cheek, so the appliance stays out of view while gradually guiding alignment. Many patients choose this option when they want the control of a fixed appliance combined with a discreet appearance during everyday conversations and photos.

Planning Your Treatment

Because lingual brackets are placed on the inner surface, precise imaging and planning matter. We use several tools to map the arch and jaw before treatment begins:

  • Digital Impression Scanning — bite-free scans capture the exact shape of the arch without messy putty impressions.
  • Digital Panoramic X-Ray — low-radiation imaging maps the full jaw and root positions.
  • Cephalometric Imaging — a side-profile skeletal X-ray supports diagnosis of bite and jaw alignment.
  • 3D Treatment Planning — a digital simulation previews how each position will shift before appliances are placed.
